Dear Friends,
On Saturday night, December 12, while returning home I was pulled over for speeding by a DPS officer. What led to my arrest, however, was not speeding but rather my refusal to take a breathalyzer test, which is my right. Throughout the experience I treated the officer with respect and courtesy. I realize he was just doing his job and I continue to appreciate the service he and others perform in protecting our safety.
I do plan to challenge this charge in court, but the process, nonetheless, is an embarrassing one. I have full faith in the judicial system and believe once all the facts are public that this matter will be cleared and behind us. In the meantime, I appreciate the public’s respect for my family’s privacy and am thankful for all the calls of support.

Dear Friends,
Just three short years ago, I decided to get back into the workforce. After ten years of volunteering and raising our children, I ran for office due to the lack of accountability in our district clerk’s office. I’m still the same person, but now I’ve had the opportunity to make positive changes felt right here at home in Hidalgo County.
- Demanding impeccable work ethics adhering to the Statutory and Constitutional duties of the office
- Preserving the integrity of the court records
- Streamlining bureaucratic procedures for DA indictments
- Enhancing electronic filing, phone services, and office productivity technology
- Managing and safeguarding the collection of fees
- Providing educational opportunities for all employees
People are fed up with ineffective politicians who are more interested in serving special interests and inside players. I have fought to make government work for the people of Hidalgo County. You deserve the kind of leadership that brings accessibility, efficiency, fairness and, above all else, a district clerk with integrity.
This is why I am asking for your support.
